Personal: Field of Flowers

A few weeks ago, in the heat of our summer, I pulled the car over for a photo-op. Then I did it again a few days later. The wildflowers in the fields near our nursery were awesome and I just had to put Little in the middle. Brave boy he is too...because there were bees. And the grass was a bit poky. But what a perfect little champ he is. Love you my Eli.

Even though it was just days later, he looked so much older. He slays me he does.

Engagement Shoot: Dominique & Zack

She was beautiful, motivated, and the right kind of spicy when I met her. And we clicked the moment I started shooting. No pun intended. Where's a rim shot when you need one? =)

I'm assuming that's how it was for Zack, the first time he locked eyes with her in History class. They clicked. And let me just say that I'm sure his heart started drumming up mad beats. Dominique thought she'd had her life-plan set in stone: Live a little, get settled into a career, and find love later. Marry at age 27. To be exact. But love doesn't usually work that way. Zack had other plans. He fell hard, and asked her to marry him earlier this year in Japan...in front of a temple! This is the stuff storybooks are made of! Boy meets girls in class, they share a love of comic books, music, and Asian culture, and then jet-set to Japan so boy can set up a world-class proposal! Girl says yes...4 years early, but a solid YES nonetheless.

I felt so honored to shoot their engagement session. I've always thought Dom was a catch, but I found out why she so swiftly accepted sweet Zack's proposal. It's hard to resist a guy who's not only charming--and has great hair--but who can do a drum solo (like that!) in the middle of a field during a photo-shoot. By the look on her face, I'm assuming everything he says is music to her ears. And having him along for the ride of her planned-out life? Even better.

And btw, Dominique? You are fiercely gorgeous!
